Message from the Regional Chairman of the Commission for Family
In today's world, families are called to be a radiant sign of God's unconditional love. At the heart of every Christian home must be Christ Himself, who unites, strengthens, and sanctifies. When families place Him at the centre of their lives, they become living witnesses of joy, kindness, and hope for the Church and for society.
I encourage all the families to embrace their vocation as "domestic churches," where faith is nurtured, love is shared, and forgiveness is practised daily. In this way, homes become schools of holiness, places where children learn to trust in God and where spouses reflect the beauty of sacrificial and caring love.
To my brother priests, religious, and lay faithful who accompany families pastorally: your mission is vital. By walking alongside families with compassion and wisdom, you help them discover the joy of the Gospel and the strength to persevere in times of trials, difficulties, and challenges. Together, let us build communities where families are supported, cherished, and inspired to grow in joy and holiness.
May the Holy Family of Nazareth be our motivation, model, and guide. May every family shine with the light of Christ, becoming a beacon of faith and a testimony to God's boundless and merciful love.
With prayerful blessings,
+ Anil Couto

Message by the Regional Secretary
Welcome to the Family Commission of the Regional Bishops' Council of the North (RBCN)!
We're delighted to walk with you on the journey of building families that are healthy, happy, and holy — always centred on Jesus Christ and the life of the Church.
Together with pastors, religious, and married lay leaders, we offer pastoral accompaniment to help families grow in love, faith, and unity. As Pope Francis reminds us:
The strength of the family lies in its capacity to love and to teach how to love.
Pope FrancisLike Joshua, who declared, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord," we believe every home can become a true domestic church — a place where Christ dwells and joy flourishes.
We warmly invite you to join us in this mission of nurturing families that shine with God's love in the world.
